On Tuesday, December 21st, 2025 His Excellency Dr. Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a gathering of students of the disciplines of Diplomacy and International Organizations andRegional Studies at the School of International Relations, located at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS). At this meeting, Dr. Araghchi elaborated on the dimensions and complexities of foreign policy in the contemporary world, describing it as an extension and reflection of the national capabilities of states, and emphasized the decisive role of discursive power in shaping international relations. He considered the core function of diplomacy to be the production of power and its transformation into national interests, security, and dignity. The Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs then went on to explain regional developments following October 7th and to outline the neighborhood policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran under the Fourteenth Government of Islamic Republic of Iran. In the final part of the session, Dr. Araghchi responded to students’ questions regarding the ongoing developments in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
