The Visit of Amirkabir University of Technology Students to the School of International Relations Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On Monday, Novemeber 3, 2025 (12 Aban 1404), a group of students from Amirkabir University of Technology visited the School of International Relations. During this visit, they met with Dr. Dehshiri, the Honorable Dean of the School; Dr. Nik-bin, the Honorable Deputy for Student and Cultural Affairs; and Dr. Bani Hashemi, a respected member of the faculty.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Dehshiri introduced the School of International Relations and its historical background. They also highlighted several distinguished diplomats who graduated from this institution, including the martyr Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Dr. Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs. They emphasized the school’s pivotal role in training specialized professionals in the field of diplomacy. They also underlined the necessity of interdisciplinary thinking in today’s world, stressing the importance of spectrum-based perspectives and the avoidance of binary (“zero-one”) approaches in analyzing international phenomenas. The process of student admission from various undergraduate disciplines, such as political science, engineering, and foreign languages was also discussed.
Subsequently, Dr. Nikbin elaborated on the structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the role of the School of International Relations within that framework, while also referring to the school’s successful alumni. In the final part of the meeting, Dr. Bani Hashemi spoke about the role of mathematics in international relations. By presenting examples of the application of game theory in forecasting foreign policy developments and the use of cryptographic algorithms and artificial intelligence in international studies, he introduced new perspectives on integrating technical and human sciences
